Q: How do I log a new project?
A: To log a new project, please go to: https://www.jotform.com/UCLAQCBio/qcb-collaboratory-contract-form

Q: How do I update or edit a fellows project?
A: To update or edit a project, please scroll all the way to the right-hand side of the screen. Select “Edit Submission” in the ultimate row. Make your changes. Then select the “Submit” button at the bottom of the page. All parties involved will receive an email notification.

Q: Where do I update our director on projects that are currently active before each meeting?

A: The Project Update form is not the same as the Project Log, it is meant to track projects that are currently active, and so we don’t assign further projects for those who currently preoccupied. Q: Do I need to take the workshops in sequence?
A: Yes, it is recommended to take them in order. If you already have knowledge of UNIX, you may elect to skip Workshop 1. Email the instructor to be sure.

Q: I can’t attend the workshop due to a scheduling conflict, will it be offered again?
A: Yes, please check our calendar to see upcoming workshops.

Q: I want to apply to be a fellow, how do I do that?
A: The most recent application period deadline was May 1.  We will be recruiting again in fall.  You can get more details here:

Q: I have issues with galaxy application, who should I contact?
A: For all issues related with galaxy, such as, you receive an error report from a program or you need to use a program or genome that is currently not available on galaxy, please contact Weihong.

Q: How much disk space do I get on galaxy? Do I need to pay?
A: Galaxy is a free service provided by collaboratory. Each galaxy account gets 1TB disk space.

Q: Is there homework assignments for Bioinfomatics 275 A/B and Research Prep 199/99?
A: Yes, students taking Bioinfomatics 275 A/B and Research Prep 199/99 will be assign a homework assignment. Students must complete the assignment with a grade of PASS in order to earn credit towards completing one workshop.
